Hello,

Is there a way to use Jira Software to create a report that will show tickets created by region? The company I work for has several regions and we want to see tickets created by each region (ideally in a created vs. resolved format) over a year's time.

For instance, we would like to see the tickets created vs. resolved during the year 2020 in Region A.

Is this possible?

Hello @Brandon Guimbellot

Welcome to the community.

How are you identifying the Region that created the issue? Is this a custom field in your issue?

What type of project are you using - Software, Service Management, or Work Management?

@Trudy Claspill thank you for responding.

Region is, I believe, a custom field. I was finally able to find Region as an option to filter in the Pie Chart Report, but have not been able to find it anywhere else.

I am using JIRA Software.

I generally am just someone that puts in tickets and does testing when tickets are moved to test lanes, but am hoping to get a better understanding of how to generate reports and pin filters against it. When I went into the filter search for, say, Created Vs. Resolved and typed in "Region" nothing would come up.

Thank you for any assistance.

You can create and save a Filter that selects the issues in the project by Region. You would need to create a filter for each Region. You will have to Share the filters with other people or the Project or the other users will not be able to see the results where those filters are used.

You can then create a Jira Dashboard. Add to that Dashboard the Created vs. Resolved Chart gadget. You will have to add the gadget multiple times - once for each Region for which you created a filter.

In that gadget you can specify that it use a Saved Filter to determine the issues on which to report - "1" in the image. You can then set the Days Previously field to 365 to get all the date for the past year of time - "2" in the image.

You'll have to share the Dashboard also with other people or the Project to enable those people to see the dashboard.
