How to consume Jira rest API on button click and show response on jira plugin web action page?

Currently I have created Webwork plugin module to define URL-addressable 'action' 
Web section plugin module to create new section in application menus. And Web Item plugin module to create sub menu in web section. On Webwork plugin module action page I already create one button.

Now I want step by step solution to fetch REST API on button click and show server response on action page . And please tell me which plugin module should I use to perform this task ?
