Can you please provide more detail? What problem are you trying to solve? You put the tag "roadmaps" on your post. Does this have to do with the Roadmaps feature?

Thanks for your response I would like to have a parent link field enabled for the team-managed project so that I can link to the hierarchy that has been configured in the Advance roadmaps in my instance.

I have only the Standard plan for Jira, so I can't experiment with extending the hierarchy in Roadmaps. I don't think it is possible to make the Parent field directly editable in Team Managed projects.

I know in the Standard plan for Jira, if you need to add an already existing Story as a child to an already existing Epic, you have to do so by clicking the Add Epic link in the breadcrumbs of the Story issue. I have not found a way in the Standard plan to directly edit the Parent field for a Story to add it to an Epic.

I don't know how it works when you add more layers of hierarchy. Do you get additional breadcrumbs that would allow you to add an Epic to the appropriate parent issue type?
