Hi,

We have two custom statuses in "Done" status category : "Cancelled", "Delivered".

First question : is it a good practice to have two statuses to mark issues as "Done" ?

When all subtasks of an issue are done, we have a message to transisition (or not) the parent. And if we choose yes, the status of the parent is arbitrary set to "Cancelled".

We expected to have the possibility to choose the status...

Is it possible to specify which status must be used ?

Hello Florian,

Welcome to Atlassian community!

About your first question: Yes, it is a good practice to use more than a single status with the Done category if your issues have the possibility to fail or been discontinued. I personally think that this is a better approach than deleting an issue, once you can still resume your work in case you decide to implement the same issue in the future.

About your second question: There are no features to display a message to transition the parent issue once you finish all sub-tasks in JIRA, so I believe the functionality you are seeing is provided by a third-party app integrated with JIRA.

Could you please check or ask your project admin what is the app you are using to display the screen to transition the parent issue? If the app works by setting workflow post functionality, I believe we can absolutely change the status chosen in the post function.

Let us know if this information helps.
