Hi,

I recently join into new team and became admin of the server. I realized that one of the Jira project on our server has different feature than two other project that we have.

I wanted to resolve an issue, but turned out there was no workflow setup on this project; so we currently dont have way to resolve an issue manually. I wanted to add workflow but I dont see the option for it in the project setting nor I see option to change the type of project. Ive attached two screenshots of project setting page. First one (BOTS) is the project that I want to add workflow to and second one (IBS) is the other project that are working as we wanted.

Can someone help me with this issue? Preferably, I want to keep the project and fix this issue. Currently, Plan B is to make new project and transfer 200+ issues but i would like to avoid that.

Hello Masaki,

Welcome to Atlassian community.

The project which is not displaying the features you are expecting is a Next-gen project.

The Next-gen project template was developed to provide a simpler and straight to the point tool for those customers who felt overwhelmed by all the classic JIRA features and its complexity.

Unfortunately, since both are completely different project types, it is not possible to simply change it so the only option to achieve your need would be by creating a new project and bulk migrating all the issues, as you mentioned.

Here's a detailed step-by-step on how to perform this:

Migrate between next-gen and classic projects

P.S: Although I think this not gonna be a problem, keep in mind that Reports data won't be saved. Even though your issues will be retained, data for your project's Velocity and Burnup reports won't transfer over and will be lost.

Let us know if you still have any questions.
