How to change default issue type in backlog

I want to change default issue type in backlog page to story.

Now in my project default issue type that I created additional from jira provided ( story / task / bug ) and I set default issue type in scheme already but when I create new issue type in backlog then system not show story.

So, How to change default issue type?

Edit your Issue Type Scheme and move the Story issue type to the top of the list.
