How to change Status of sub-tasks from issue view

How can we change Status of sub-tasks from the right issue view area?

It would be great if we can just click on the status icon and get a choice of all the possible status options to change to

If this is not possible, what would be the easiest/most convenient way to change the status of multiple sub-tasks?

Bob,

This is what the "work mode" is for. Each transition you make will result in a new status defined by your workflow. To modify the status of multiple issues I'd recommend you to use the jira bulk-change functionality. Just perform a search that returns the sub-tasks you want to modify, click on the cog icon on the top right of the screen and select bulk change for all issues. Then, you'll be able to transition multiple issues through the workflow.
