I have read countless of forum pages, watched YouTube videos and it seems that automating reports always ends up being better if we add a Plugin to our JIRA platform.
Can we not simply use the many JIRA automation capabilities to email a bunch a managers the status of all Epics in a weekly basis?
I have tried using a some of our dashboard.
I have tried using custom filters.
I am no expert but I have made several automations to our teams such as lack of updates notifications, auto assignments etc.
Cannot thank this brilliant community enough for all the content that has helped me get there. A big thank you again!
Can anyone please advise me how can I automate a weekly EPIC status report to an email address please? No Plugin's please, Just JIRA.

What exactly do you want in you Epic Status Report?
Are the recipients of the report licensed users of your Jira system with access to the issues that would be included in the report?
What is the criteria you want to use to select what will be included in your report?
Saved Filter Subscriptions is one way to deliver information on a schedule to people who are licensed users of Jira.
Automation Rules are another way email information about a list of issues to a list of people.
The exact solution, and whether or not it would require an app, depends on answer to the questions above.
