How to assign a component to an issue in jira cloud?

Petra von Thienen August 28, 2019

HI, I am using jira-core as cloud version. I can define components, but there is no field where I can assign the component to an issue. How do I do that?

Thanks for your help.

Petra

Hi @Petra von Thienen ,

There is a field called components. Please make sure this field is available on your screen. With this field you can select components

There is no field Components. I am working in the cloud trial version I have just booked, not server.

Please configure/add the Jira system "component/s" field within "Create" and "View" screen of your project Issue Type.

I finally found it. I had to configure the filed first as required and assign the screen. It is not obvious how the configuration works.
