HI Everyone,
We just set up our first kanban board. The board is Jira Managed "You're in a company-managed project" which is great because everything is set up for you. The problem we are facing now is that only new tasks can be added to the backlog.
I am unable to add new tasks to our bugs column for example, it has to go to the backlog. and if i move the "create" in the workflow to bugs, then all tasks have to go to bugs.
How can i allow the system to accept new tasks "create" in both bugs column on my board and backlog?
please check the filter associated to your kanban board. Issue will be displayed in the board based on :
If a ticket will not appear onyour board or the board filter doesn't retrieve it or the related status is not in some board column.
Hi @Amr Ismail ,
welcome to the Atlassian community!
First of all, pelase could you share a screenshot of your board so that we can figure out your current setup? You are talking about kanban and backlog that usually are two different approach (Backlog is a Scrum item). On kanban approach, each issue created in your project that is retrieved by your board filter will appear on the kanban board (where you can't create a fast ticket as in the backlog view).
Moreover it seems that you have a column per issue type but columns can be setup for workflow status so it makes me confused.

Hi Fabio,
thank you for your quick response. So we use backlog inorder to be able to organize the tasks that will go into our Selected for Development Column. As all columns are organized based on the teams capacity.
The issue here is that we integrated with Rollbar to automatically capture all system bugs. The integration is working fine but all the bugs that come from Rollbar automatically enter into the backlog and not the Kanban board.
Even if we decided to create a new task "Bug" it must go to the backlog first.
I have attached our diagram.

If the create is just going to be done in the backlog, how can i create swimlanes in my backlog?
