How to add specific fields to just 1 worktype in a company managed sace/project?

I'm getting lost in the screen/screensheme/work type screen schemes.

What I want to do: 

• Add different fields to a specific work type in a Jira cloud project. 

What I already did:

• Created a specific screen for 'Create issue' for this worktype
• Created a specific screen for 'Edit/View issue' for this worktype
• Created a screen scheme link to these screens
• Created a work type screen scheme that is linked to the screen scheme

But I cannot seem to get the work type screen scheme that I created linked to my space.

Hi Valerie,

Another way to do it is to add a Context to the fields. Go to Settings > Work items > Fields. 

Search for the field you want to do this for. Click the 3 dots under the Actions column for that field. Select Contexts and default values. 

There you can select a single project or a single work type or a combination of the two. Then the field will only show on screens when the work item is attached to that work type.

I have changed the context to 'Global' and linked to my worktype and indeed, now it shows. 

I do wonder what the actual way to do this is, because yours is quite easy, but the screen scheme one seems very complex.
