How to add resolution control to default issue screen?

Nikita Starostin May 7, 2019

For now when user set status of the issue to resolved the "Resolve Issue Screen" appears and user selects "Resolution". The "Resolve Issue Screen" was configured by default, out of the box. I just configure the workflow.

I want to add "resolution" field to "default issue screen", I have added "Resolution" field to screen "default issue screen", but I don't see it in "Issue Layout" for screen "default issue screen". Also I have done the same for custom field "Testing" and it is working as expected.

This is a bit blunt, for which I apologise, but

"I want to add "resolution" field to "default issue screen"" - no, you do not.

If you put the resolution field on a screen that is an "edit" screen (i.e. create, edit or transition screens), it will get set.  It's usually wrong to do that on edit, and almost 100% wrong on create.

You should only put the resolution field on screens that are used by transitions going into "closed" type states.

As @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- said DO NOT put the resolution field on any screen other than the transition where you want it set. Resolution is ALWAYS required when it is on the screen. You CAN NOT turn that off in the field configuration. You will have issues that show resolved when created if you use the default screen for the create screen.
