My team use Kanban, and we would like to add Incident number under details.
I have added the the field in "Issue detail view" but its not showing in a story.
How do I use this and how does it show in details when i open a new story?

You can't just add a field and expect it to be filled arbitrarily from (presumably) another system.
How are you adding the incident number to your issues?
Dont really know how to explain this,please see picture. added the "Field" in "Issue detail view". What you mean is that it needs to be connected to another system to be populated? I cant add any number i want?
We dont add this today but would like to use it but not from a system -but from our own type of numbers.

Ok, that's good to see. My original question was trying to tease out how you are expecting to get the data for the incident number into Jira, but it looks like you're not yet sure yet.

That suggests that the field, while it is in the card layout, has not been added to the Create or Edit screens for the issues of that type in the current project.

You will need to be a Jira admin to do this, but the quickest way to get there is to go to the project, project settings, issues, screens
From there, you should be able to drill down to the actual create/edit screens you need to get the field on to.
