How to add an action button in navbar, view issue and board view

alexandru.caragop May 27, 2024

Hello,

I tried forge and other tips from the Atlassian documentation but I cannot find an easy way to just add a button in the UI (not a very complex app).
Basically I want to redirect the user to another website and I want this button to be easy accessible.
Ex: <a href="https://www.google.com">Homepage</a>
with a little bit of styling like padding and background color.

Thank you.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You can only amend the UI with Forge or Connect apps (Connect apps are less able than Forge).  So you are on the right track, but "cannot find an easy way to add a button" is something you are going to need to persevere with, it's the only way you'll be able to do it.

I managed to create and connect a lot of apps (modules) in jira: jiraGlance, jiraPanel, jiraWhatever, but they are so complex and open other interfaces in jira. I just want a button and I couldn't find any module for that. Any idea which module would be right for adding a button in the mentioned views?
