Hi everyone,
I am looking for a way to add Placeholder Text in some of my Jira Software Cloud issues.
For example:
I would like to add suggestive placeholder text like the one shown above to try and make sure that all developers follow up the correct structure we have decided when creating Task/Sub-tasks/Epic and Bug type issues.
I have been scouring the forums and saw that in Jira Server and Data Center this is possible (albeit the Jira Server one will be discontinued after 15 February 2024) but I cannot find a single article on how to do this in Cloud.
Hi Gabriela,
I can confirm the Behaviours Feature of ScriptRunner for Jira Cloud feature is the way to do this.
We have an example script in our script library located here that will show how to do this, and you can use this as a template to help achieve your requirements.
I hope this information helps.
Regards,
Kristian
Hi Kristian,
Thank you for the answer and additional links. I will have a look at this later and try to set it up for our project.

So for data center even it's a pretty new feature to be native. Adaptivist just rolled out their update for behaviors for scriptrunner: https://docs.adaptavist.com/sr4jc/latest/features/behaviours
Even on data center up until recently that was the way to do it and for cloud seems to be the way to do it.
Best,
Clark
