How to add 'Idea' issue type to the Issue Type Hierachy?

In Jira Plans, the Idea Issue Type is appearing as the same level as a story or task. Where ideally I would like it to be at the top of the hierarchy

Hi Luke,

You probably need to remove it from the hierarchy, then create a level and put it back in there.

Thank you. By Idea, I mean the Jira Product Discovery default field.

Hello @Luke Thorogood

When you create a new issue type you make a choice between creating a standard issue type or a subtask issue type. When you choose standard the the new issue type is added to Level 0.

After creating the new issue type you then need to add the new hierarchy level. After adding the new hierarchy level you can then move one of the Level 0 issue types to the new level.
