How to Track blocked issue in JIra

We would like to track blocked issues in JIra but the team don't want to use Priority field,or workflow or flag option apart from this is there any other way to track ?
We are open to use any paid plugins to track blocked issues, so that it should give some blocked symbol or label to show on the scrum or Kanban board and also it's better to show for how many days it blocked.Please advise what all plugins available in the market place to track these things.

There's a ton of ways to solve this one, here's two:

Uses Automation for JIRA

1. Create a checkbox field called "Blocked" with two options (Yes and No) and set the default value to "No". If they don't mind needing to click "Edit" to flag the issue as blocked, you don't need to set a default value.
2. Create a date field called "Blocked Date".
3. Add both fields to the screens of your issues.
4. Use the plugin "Automation for JIRA" to set the date field to the current date\time when the "Blocked" field is set to "Yes".

Uses IssueMatrix

1. Make a new custom field called something like "Blocking Issues" and set it to look at issues linked by the "is blocked by" relationship.
2. Add it to your screens.
3. Tell your devs to identify issues that are blocked by linking using the "is blocked by" relationship.

Hi Fisher- Thanks for the response. But these options doesn't provide any colors on the issue on Kanban board or scrum board right ? We would like to have red color label on the issue to view on boards.

And also  do we have any plugins to get this data without adding any custom fields ?

Unfortunately I'm not sure how you would be able to track this without using status, flag, or a custom field (plugin or otherwise)...those are pretty much the options :)

You can use card colors to add a colored bar to the left of kanban\scrum cards based on whether the field is checked or not. I am not sure how it would work with IssueMatrix but it theoretically should.
