Hi everyone,

When I try to link an issue to an epic in a Scrum project, Jira shows a list of epics from all Jira projects, not just the current one. This is causing confusion since users can accidentally link issues to epics from other projects.

Is there a way to restrict the list of epics to only show those from the same project? I’ve looked into permission schemes, issue security, and automation, but I haven’t found a clear solution.

Any suggestions or best practices to fix this? Thanks in advance!

Hi @Camilo Castro,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

The list of epics are based on the permission that the user have access to, so the only way to limit it would be to limit access. A workaround that I recommend is to always link work items to the epic via the board, in the backlog you can drag and drop items into the epic.
