How to Measure Velocity and Plot burndown chart in each Fix Version?

Alfred Tan March 17, 2021

Hi Sir/Madam,

There are many examples and solution in the forum about generation reports, metrics and dashboard to measure velocity in a SPRINT.

However, could you advise if there's any method or reports or metrics that could measure the velocity in a particular Fix Version?

The same goes to Burndown chart.

Not all projects running in SAFe and using the issuetype like: Story, EPIC, ProgramEpic.

Some projects in an organization might be using custom issuetypes like: Change Request, Problem and Feature Request to track the SW deliveries in every Fix Version.

Therefore, it's somehow expected to also measure the Velocity and Burndown chart by Fix_version.

Look forward to your reply.

Regards,

Alfred Tan

Hi there,

I can suggest an app that my company have developed, which allows you to have burndown chart for fixVersion - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1219872/advanced-burndown-chart-gadget-for-jira

Also, we also have an app, that can show number of issues in fixVersion and percentage of issues resolved, that can be used to track numbers in a similar fashion as velocity report - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1219429/status-progress-report-gadget-for-jira
