How can I delete a post in the community.
How can I have my work profile not set up in the community. I just want to use my personal community account.
Thank you!
The current version of the Community platform allows only moderators to delete.
It's a slightly fuzzy group - the Atlassian community owners have delete rights, but they've named a number of Community leaders as moderators as well. I am one, but I don't have all the same permissions as the Atlassian Community owners.
I am in a group that has delete rights, but I don't use it any more because I want other people to check my thinking about stuff that should be removed and have the option to correct me.
The other two options we have for killing a post are
Both of these move the post to a different area that only moderators can see, and we can restore from either. The spam area helps train the 'bots that kill spam automatically and "Removed" is the non-judgemental area. Posts in either get permanently removed when they've been not-restored for a while (spam is a few weeks, removed a few months)
At the moment, there's no way to directly request a deletion. But you can report abuse which makes another post that only mods and the reporter can see. Mods sift through these regularly and try to deal with them one way or another.
So, TLDR: report yourself for abuse! We know it's a catch-all. Just say "please remove" or "posted in error" and one of the leaders will throw it into "removed", we don't question why someone wants their own posts deleted.
I'm going to go check them both now... ;-)
Hello @Cyril James ,
I think the best thing to do is log in with your work profile and delete your post and make the profile private.
You do not want to delete the profile as it will be needed to log issues with Atlassian and it will have access to licenses etc.
I do not wish you away but in the event that you leave the company then you no longer have access to your work email etc...

You could try and report the post to a moderator. Try explaining the situation in the comment box when you report and maybe they can help.
