How many of you use Marketplace filters when selecting third-party apps, and why?

How do you decide which third-party apps to install from the Atlassian Marketplace?

Do you have a standard SOP or checklist, or does it depend on the use case?

What are the main things you look at before approving an app, such as Cloud Fortified, Runs on Atlassian, certifications, security, permissions, data access, vendor reputation, or reviews?

And if an app doesn't have the usual trust signals, what do you look at instead?

I largely second what @Tomislav Tobijas already said. Adding to it, the main thing I look at, is if the app is capable of solving the problem we want to address. And - on top of that - does it solve that problem for the majority of our user base (or has the potential to solve problems for most of our users. 

In a couple of bullet points:

• does the app solve a real problem we are facing;
• does it do that in a qualitative way
• can it scale to the majority of our user base

I am usually also interested to know a bit more about the vendor behind the app and the level of support they offer.

If I can share some insights from my/our perspective, I don't see that many orgs really using or paying that much attention to filters. These days, people who are in charge of getting the apps simply tend to ask AI on what would be the best app for their use case; and I guess it mostly points to best seller apps.

"Hosting" filter, on one hand, could be useful, especially if you're on gov or isolated could, but not so many people are...

At one time, while we were playing around with different apps, I believe I've found filter like "Use cases" quite interesting, but that was a while back 👀

We don't have that many Orgs that strictly look at security level - mainly it's data residency capabilities.
