I read several documentation about setting LDAP filters in JIRA and also topics about user object filter and group object filter. However, I cannot find any documentation on how these two filters work together (or maybe they don't?). Greatly appreciate any answer.

The group filter will add AD groups that meet parameters ( like must have Jira in the description field (*Jira*)). Local read only needs to be selected.

For users it’s the same to populate users in Jira. Once I’m back in the office I can give a better description.

As @Raynard Rhodes wrote, the group filter will select the group's, that are imported/synced from LDAP to Jira.

The User filter does the same for the Users.

In general,  they are both completely independent from each other, but you will probably want to import only that groups where your imported users are members of.

Thanks @Bastian Stehmann! That is good to know as I cannot find information on how they work together (which is probably because they don't!).

Yes, @Raynard Rhodes, let me know when you can give more info on this.
