How is JIRA Plans determining if a Release is "On Track" or "Off Track" and by how much?

I'm just starting to explore using JIRA Plans and pulling in Releases.  I notice each release has a "Status"; values appear to be "On Track" or "Off Track."  If "Off Track" will tell you by how many days.  Also, I notice the Release Date when in this state has a (+X days) value beside it.  I have attached a screen capture to share an example.  I'm not sure what data is being used to determine this and hoping someone can share insight.

Releases that contain issues scheduled by sprint dates will show as off-track if the sprint ends after the release date. In other words, your project must contain Jira issues that will not be completed in time for the planned release date.

Thanks @Dave Rosenlund _Trundl_ ; this does help.  Do you have any insight on the +20 days in this example? Is that saying I have a JIRA issue which is scheduled to end 20 days after the specified release date?

The simple answer is, yes. However, a site administrator or project administrator can customize settings that might be relevant here.

Since you are a site administrator, I assume you'd be aware of any customer settings that might have a bearing on this question. 😉

Thanks Dave; I did not set up the JIRA instance and just recently joined and got added as an Admin. So I'll just need to dig around in the settings.
