How do you sort the stories and tasks under an epic in a chronological order?

By chronological order I mean how do you arrange the stories and tasks so the user knows the task or the story needs to be completed before the next story or task can start.

you can use the Ranking feature available in the board if on Classic projects. There is no real precedence-linking feature. You could create a custom field and number them but that can be an exercise in futility until you fully lock down the tasks. If you go the route of the later (not recommended) then leave space in your numbering so you don't have to renumber constantly.
