How do you search a specific checklist assignee?

I want to see if its possible to create a JQL Advanced search on a specific project that has issues where the Resources checklist has a checkbox called "Engineer" and assigned to a specific resource? 

Current JQL: project = {NameOfProject} and Resources ~ Engineer

It depends on which plugin you use.
Can you provide the add-on name, as we need to check the documentation and find out which JQL searches they suggest.

What custom field type is your 'Resources field?

Matching specific options for a checkboxes custom field can be done by using '='.
