How do you create two levels under Story

Alison Whittaker

I'm trying to create a structure of epic > story > task > subtasks but Jira is only letting me create epic > story > subtask. How do I get another level down, under story > subtask?

You do not.  The hierarchy in Jira Software is Epic -> Story -> Sub-task.  You can't add more layers without apps that add them.

Thank you! One more question... Can you create a layer above epic then?  Initiative>epic>story>subtask?

Advanced Roadmaps, Jira Align, and Structure all have options for layers over Epics
