I went into Settings > User management > Users and looked at different examples. The question is how did they get like this and how can they be fixed/modified?
Hello @stephan_lewis
Are these user accounts that your company manages, or user accounts created and managed by the individual users?
It appears to me (based on testing) that the Full Name associated with the user account will be displayed for the name of the user in the Assignee field.
If the accounts are created by and managed by the individual users, then those users can manage their own Full Name values.
If the accounts are managed by the user's employer, then the method the employer uses to create the account would need to be examined and the employer would need to make the change to the source information that is used to create the Atlassian account.
The Invite Users screen does not create the user accounts in Atlassian Cloud. It is used only to identify individuals that will be able to access your product.
If no account exist in Atlassian Cloud that matches the email address then the recipient will complete the account creation for themselves, including setting their Full Name.
If the email address domain is owned by a company the company may have its own Atlassian subscription and may manage the user's account by linking it to their own company-owned authentication. In that case that company's authentication system may integrate with Atlassian Cloud and set the Full Name for the account.

Hi Trudy,
This is the part that is so confusing to me. I'm the one that has created most of these accounts and I can't understand where (or how) I did anything differently.
