How do you Juggle Visitor Management on your Jira?

Testimony Akinkunmi

Hi everyone. How do you Juggle Visitor Management on your Jira? That is, if you want to put in the form of data people (visitors) who would go in and out of your company. When they come in, What they do? How do you do that on Jira?

Hi @Testimony Akinkunmi

If your company is to the point where you need to manage visitors to that level, I would get a purpose-built solution.

Having said that, that's an interesting use case for Jira Service Management. I can see value if you pre-provision the visitors ("customers") in the system so you know who they are), and even better if you pre-register the entire visit itself, so when the visitor arrives they check in on their phone/kiosk or with a receptionist and do the "I've arrived" transition to notify their host.

You could similarly have an "I'm gone" transition, but I would automatically close the open visit records at the end of the day, which would invalidate their visitor badge and any temporary network access.
