How do we add Google App Atlassian OnDemand to existing OnDemand instance?

We currently host an OnDemand instance of Jira. We are trying to enable that instance with Google Apps, but we don't know the impact on existing users. Will it merge based on email address? If we run into issues, can we rollback the change or disable the google application?
