How do it copy the due date from the parent issue if its not been set

On creating a sub-issue if the due date for the new subtask is blank I would like to copy the the due date from the parent issue.

is there anyway i can do this?

You can use this post-function from JIRA Misc Workflow Extensions add-on.

Honestly, this is worth the money. I'm not biased in any way in this and don't profit from sales of that plugin :) In my opinion, you can't really unleash your workflows until you have JMWE and ScriptRunner (which is free)
