How do I toggle the privacy of an existing project?

It is possible to update the Access settings for a Team-managed project/space using the steps below:

1. From your space's sidebar, select Space settings, then Access.

2. Under Space access, select Change space access.

3. Choose the level of access you want to give, then select Change.

I am quite sure you are referring to Projects in the Projects app / platform experience. If my understanding is correct, both answers by @Victor Law - Ricksoft and @Lalithesh are technically correct, but not related to what you are asking about.

When you create a new project in the project directory and choose to make it private, it is true that you cannot undo that. Through the share project feature you can give access to users or groups, creating a similar situation as if you created the project publicly. But indeed, reverting the fact that you created the project as private initially is not possible.

I believe you're referring to the Space (formerly know as Projects) access setting in team-managed projects. If so, you can find make the project private under Access settings.

Navigate to Space Settings → Access. In the top-right corner, next to the Add people button, you'll see an option to update the space access level
