How do I sync projects in two JIRA instances?

Karen Tao May 20, 2014

Hi, I am working on two JIRA instances (internal and client) and would like the JIRA projects in the client's instance to synchronise to my internal JIRA instance.

I have already looked at Go2Group's ConnectAll and Sync for JIRA. Are there any other ways to do this?

edit: I am using JIRA OnDemand which is not supported by Sync for JIRA.

Those two are the best options for you at the moment. The only other approach is to write something yourself, using email or REST.

Can you explain what you mean by using email?

You set up both Jira installations to "create or comment" on issues by email.

Then you set them both up to email each other.

It's not really a synchronisation, it's really basic if you only have the standard mail handlers, but if you have the JEMH, you can make it quite close.

For OnDemand though, you pretty much need to do this with REST
