How do I show the issues in a feature (similar to the feature panel) on a Kanban board?

I have a kanban board showing the features in a project. I want to see for each feature how many issues are in the feature, how many are done, how many are in progress etc.

I can't find the option in the configure card layout view.

Thanks.

PS i'd also like to do the same thing for capabilities (show the features in it).

Hi @Chris langlay-smith

What do you mean by Feature Panel?

There is an Epic Panel which can be activated on a Kanban Board which has a Backlog:

  1. Go to Board > Configure (Server/DC) or Options (3-dots icon) > Board Settings (Cloud)
  2. Go to Columns on the left-hand menu
  3. Toggle Epic Panel to ON

^ But there isn't natively a "Feature Panel" unless you're either using an app or have modified the Epic issue type to visualise Feature instead? Can you advise if this is what has been done on your instance?

If you could let us know the hosting type also (Cloud, Server or Data Center), that'd be great.

@Ste Wright Thanks for response. I noticed after posting this my company replaced epics with features. I've got the epic panel on in my scrum board but want to see the same info per epic 'card' in the kanban view if possible.

I have a kanban which shows the epics. each epic has stories associated. I'd like to be able to see the number of stories in each feature, either in a %age progress, or as a breakdown (# not started, # in progress, # completed).

In the card layout options i see progress appearing 4 times (one is Σ Progress)

I'm not certain on hosting type but we're a huge company (100,000+ employees)

Thanks

Chris

Hi @Chris langlay-smith

So the Epics Panel in the Kanban (as described above) is insufficient? You want it on the actual card?

You could do this but it will make your cards very busy - for example, you could create some custom fields which calculate the answers you're looking for (would likely need an app to extend this functionality) and then place them on the cards via card layout.

I would suggest though a report or dashboard would be a better option if the Epics Panel is insufficient - so you can see a progress report per Epic rather than cramming that onto the board view :)
