How do I set the groups a user joins by default?

Deleted user December 1, 2014

Currently, when a user first joins JIRA they are added to the jira-users group. How do I have them join a different group instead?

It's in Admin -> Global permissions.  Every group that is granted "Can log in (JIRA users)" permission will be added to all new accounts automatically.
