How do I seize a migrated filter from an invalid user?

v8lust May 26, 2023

I have migrated JIRA Server to SaaS.

I had an issue when I disabled a non-existent user (migrated from Active Directory LDAP, so email and user are invalid) which caused the boards to fail and the project appear "locked".

I have re-enabled the user and now project and boards are operational, but I need to change the owner of filters from this inaccessible account to my Cloud administrator account.

Hello @v8lust

Go to the gear icon next to your avatar and select System.

Then find Filters under Shared Items. Click on it.

Find the filter in the list. Click the ... button on the far right and select Change Owner.

Select a new owner for the filter.

Thank you, that worked a treat. Is there an equivalent for Boards? I have also got some boards which are "lost", i.e. I can't delete the filer because it says a board exists, but I can't see it in the default view.

I think it's Permission Scheme related, I'll open a new question.
