How do I see the ranking in my Active Sprint view?

• The Product Owner ranks the items in the Product Backlog, the team drags and drops the items to the Sprint Backlog.
• But when we go to the Active Sprint view, the issues don't appear with the same ranking.
• If we make tasks with any of the issue, that issue starts appearing at the top. 

Does Jira expect the team members to keep switching between Backlog and Active sprint views? 

I would say we do need a Rank field (a number input) in addition to Priority. Ranking only by manual drag-and-drop is not sufficient. 

Any workarounds?

We use JIRA 7.10 server version.

In the Project Configuration: General and Filter screen, ensure the Filter option 'Ranking' says 'Using Rank'. 

The rank of the Unassigned issues in the Active Sprints screen should be the same (*for those issues only*) as in the Backlog screen.
