From past experience in a Jira ticket I had the edit button available at the top, I now don't have any such option. I would usually hit edit and a popup looking window would appear and make editing far easier in a view similar to when creating a new ticket. How can I make the edit button available?
The screenshot below is only meant to display that no edit button is available.
*I don't believe its available anywhere under the "More actions” menu either.

Atlassian has moved to an inline edit interface over edit button opening a popup. So there is no more Edit buton.
All field should be available from the issue view.
