How do I get an Epic drill down like shown in the image

I would like to get a better drill down of Epic. I see this option only in Plans, or on reports under each board. 

However I want the drill down across boards. I tried marketplace apps like Quick Filters, Rich Filters, Dashboard Hub and many others. Each of them lacks it. Dashboard hub gives the progress but doesn't have the controller feature. Can someone suggest how can I have a dashboard for executive reporting to show the quaterly commitment, status of the epics committed, story level reporting, sprint level reporting.

The image you shared is from Plans, and that type of hierarchy-aware progress view is one of the planning features Atlassian reserves for Jira Cloud Premium and Enterprise. Plans can combine work from multiple boards or spaces and roll progress up through the epic hierarchy, but they can’t be embedded as an interactive native Jira dashboard gadget.

Since the question shows Jira Cloud Free, there isn’t a native dashboard that’ll provide the same cross-board epic > story > sprint drill-down. Standard dashboard gadgets can report from cross-space saved filters, but each gadget operates independently and won’t behave like the controller shown in your screenshot.

The Rich Filters approach mentioned earlier is probably the closest dashboard-style option if you need a selector that updates multiple gadgets. eazyBI is better suited when the main requirement is executive reporting across quarterly commitments, epic status, child work, and sprints, but it’ll require building and maintaining the reporting model.

Before choosing between them, I’d clarify whether the priority is an interactive dashboard where executives select an epic, or a portfolio report showing all committed epics and their progress at once. Those are different reporting patterns, and the best app depends on which experience matters most.

The blunt version first: native Jira dashboards have no cross-gadget controller, and no app fully recreates what Plans does inside a dashboard. So the choice is really "which compromise".

• Rich Filters is still the closest to a controller — a rich filter controller gadget with a dynamic filter on the Parent field gives one-click epic filtering across every gadget on the dashboard. If it "lacked it" when you tried, check whether the dynamic filter was added on Parent; that step is easy to miss and without it there's nothing to drill by.
• If you're on Cloud Enterprise, Atlassian Analytics has genuine dashboard controls and drill-down — but it's Enterprise-only, not Premium.
• eazyBI is the heavyweight option: epic → story → sprint drill-down and quarterly commitment tracking are exactly its territory, at the cost of a real learning curve.

Although eazyBI is the most heavyweight option, it would definitely work for what you are trying to achieve. I have done that in the past. If you haven't used it before, it might be a bit overwhelming (as with any other BI tool) because of its power.
