How do I edit the permission to edit Assignee for an issue?

I can't edit the Assignee on a project, I believe I have permission to do so, but need to add the permission to that screen.

This document seems to describe the issue I have, but the instructions here don't map to the settings I see.

I've gone through the board &  issue & screen settings and I can't find any entry for permissions or operations as described.

Where is the setting I need to find?
This is a company managed project, Agile style.

Hey @Carlos Massiah!

The article you referenced is only for Server/Data Center which is probably why things aren't lining up correctly.

Since you have noted that you have Site Admin permissions, I'd recommend using the "Permission Helper" as it will tell you exactly why you can't edit the assignee.

If you are still having issues locating the source of the problem after using the permission helper, could you provide a screen show of the permission helper results and we'll figure out what to do next.

Definetly helps.
So the issue was that I did not have permission to edit the value. While admin, I was not actually "assigned" to the project and thus did not have permission to edit the value.
Solution was to assign myself to the project.

Though this raises further (rhetorical) questions of why can I edit other values and not this one? Inconsitent behavior. Why is there not a tooltip for that item if it's different? I'll leave that rabbit hole unexplored.

I'll accept this as an answer as this seems a good starting point for future people searching to resolve this and similar issues.

Ahh yes!  I have mixed feelings about admins not inherently having oversight into everything.
