How do I create a portal-only customer?

Hello - I am really sorry if this is a highly asked question but I'm getting very confused!

I've set up my service desk project and added my team as agents. But I can't figure out how to add portal only customers, I just end up on a never ending loop!

We want people in our organise to be able to create an account that just gets them access to the portal to ask a question and view their requests in the portal area BUT not the backend of Jira, we don't want them to see the queues etc. Does this make sense?!

Is there a link that we can send to a list of organisation members where they can sign up to be a portal member only?

Thanks!

To create portal only customers, add them to the Customers list in a service management project.

>Go to your SM project, in the left colum click "Customers" and then you can choose to add organizations or customers. They will get an invitation.

You can also change the customer permissions from the project settings, so anyone with the link to your portal will be able to create tickets/create accounts.

Thank you, this is really helpful. So there is no way of sending a link to a user so they can create their account? We need to manually add them into the list in the project?

Thank you!

As a portal only customer it seems like can amend the announcement shown on the portal - is this correct?

Hi, I'm just encountering the same issue - did you figure out how to let customers sign up on their own AS customers?
Thanks!
