How do I create a custom field to insert a duration of a task?

I want to create some custom fields to have the input field as durations (i.e. minutes/ hours/ days/ weeks).

As I checked Jira doesn't support this apart from the built in fields in the form for the ticket creation. Does anyone know how to do this? In my requirement I need to have 4 custom fields with this input type.

Welcome to community

If you need fields for that you are right you would need four fields

However what are you trying to accomplish? There maybe a better solution. But for someone on community to provide a solution we would need to know the actual problem your company is trying to solve for

Please can you expain more what you are trying to achieve?

You want to indicate at the level of work item / task the duration it should take to do what? Please can you explain why you can't or would prefer not to use the standard fields like Due date, or Original / Remaining Estimate?
