How do I copy a Story from my team to another team in the same company?

Hello,

I am on a survey team that uses JIRA for tracking research projects. I am working as a member of two otherwise non-overlapping but adjacent teams. I need to get the Story & all the associated subtasks & documentation over to the JIRA board of my other team, but I don't know if the two teams actually share any access to each other's JIRA boards. Exactly what would I have to do & what permissions would I need to get in order to copy the JIRA story and subtask to the other team so that the other team can see it?

Hi @Jon Pennington

If I understand your requirements correctly, I would say:

  • Make sure that both teams have browse permission to the Project that this Story resides in
  • Make sure both teams are in the Security Level (if it is being used) for that particular Story
  • Change the filter of the board (where the story is not visible) so that this particular Story is included (or add the whole project to the JQL)

In the above, I am assuming that the Story is in another Project.

HTH,
KGM
