How do I bulk change issue types?

How do I bulk change issue types?

I have a load of tasks that should really be stories. Does Jira allow me to do this?

Hello @David Geißler 

To change an issue's Type you have to use the Move operation (as opposed to the Edit operation).

Move is an operation that is available in the Bulk change feature, if you have sufficient permissions for Bulk Change and Move.

@Trudy P Claspill  Via Edit issue operation it shows edit issue type option as well , can we use that option for editing issue type ?

It is not advisable to use that method @Vikrant Yadav 

If there is a mismatch in Required Fields or available Statuses between the original and chosen issue type then attempting to change the issue type through the Edit Issue action may fail or have unexpected results.
