How do I allow users to edit the priority field?

We are using Jira cloud with almost no customization.  I just want to add the priority field and allow it to be edited.  The field appears but it is not editable.  I thought I needed to add the priority field to the edit screen  but the edit screen does not appear as an option of screens to which the field can be added.

Go to the project settings -> Screens and edit the screen for the edit action.

Thanks.  Three screens are listed on the "View Screens" screen: Default Screen, Resolve Issues Screen, and Workflow Screen.  I clicked on Configure for all of them.  They all list Priority in the Field Tab.  The Priority field appears for issues but the field is not editable.

When I click the Edit button, the pop-up window does not have the Priority field.  So I am unable to edit the field.

Any update on this? I am also using Jira cloud and I am facing the same issue.
