How do I add an other option for a multiple choice that will then have a free form option to explain

I created a multiple-choice question on one of my requests and I want that if they choose "other" then they should explain what they want in a free-form box. Do I have to create another question, or can it be part of the multiple-choice question?

If the multi choice question is a Jira field then yes, you would have to create a new field for it. If you are using  Forms then you will get a text box that the user can fill out, or you could use a condition that will show a free text field of Other is selected.
