How do I add a quicksearch to search a custom field that contains the text typed in by the user?

I was able to create a custom search filter pretty easily since that doesn't require JQL but I would like to replicate it in QuickSearch so that this custom field can be searched while in the Backlog view, for example.

you could add a comment with the content you wish to search on and then find it via quick search
