How can you link two projects in sidebar?

Hi, 

In our JIRA environments we have two projects which seems to be linked to each other somehow. When opening one of the two projects, the other project always appears in the left menu side bar (see picture). 

The boards were set up by someone that left the company so that is why I am reaching out to the community.

first of all please check if there's some third part app that put in place that behaviour. As per my knowledge this is not a builtin feature.

About boards, a board could be linked to different projects. As a JIRA admin you can change board owner at your convenience as specified here https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Service-Management/Can-we-change-the-ownership-of-existing-Jira-Board/qaq-p/1991412
