How can we import data from production instance to test instance and avoid certain data.

is there a way to export production and import only the projects, metadata without the ticket information?

is there a way to export everything except a certain project?

i know there is a way to do a project at a ttime.

Ultimately I need the entire qa instance to look like Production but without some data that contains PHI or PI.

You can import the production data in a dummy instance, delete what you need and export to the qa instance.

Or make a csv export using a jql filter. An other option will be to make some modifications on the xml backup but i'm not sure that is possible or sustainable.
