I have created a version release in JIRA and linked Epics to it which has estimated points. I am able to estimate a release burndown with the estimated points and sprint velocity. When I add new issue to the release which is part of an epic it changes my total version estimate even though it was already estimated earlier.

For example I estimated to complete a version in 2 months using 4 sprints. My total points estimated for the version is 200 and my sprint velocity is 50. I have 4 epics to complete with each estimated at 50 points.  So I expect to complete in 2 months once each of my epics with 50 points is completed. Now if I add an issue with 13 story points to an epic which was  already estimated at 50 points the total estimated points increase to 213. I had presumed that this issue points should go against the estimated points for that epic. But it is not.
