How can I use the Jira Timeline as traditional Gantt Chart where Tasks are automatically adjusted

I am working within a Timeline view and dealing with several Tasks, under an Epic, all under an Initiative.  In the course of a project, some Tasks get delayed, and I'd like dependent Tasks to automatically shift to the right reflecting the delay.  I can't seem to make this happen automatically, so with an Epic containing several Tasks, this manual process is very tedious.

How do I make the Timeline view act more like a traditional Gantt Chart where dependent tasks are automatically shifted to the right or left depending on their predecessors completion or delay?

Hello @Jason Schwartz

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

The Plans feature, available with Premium and Enterprise subscriptions, has an Auto-scheduler feature. I haven't worked with that, but I think it considers dependent/predecessor task dates when auto-scheduling.

Jira does not natively have a single-button feature already built to manage this process otherwise.

However I did write an article on how to do that with Automation Rules. Take a look at that and let me know if you have questions.
